3 Stars Had a lot of problems
I’ve had this washer for 7 months. I bought because I’d heard Bosch was one of the best brands. There are a few quirks that I find very annoying on the washer. There is a signal that beeps when the load is done. There is no way to turn this off & it has a series of several LOUD beeps every 30 seconds until you turn it off when the load is done. This is annoying if you’re in the middle of something & you don’t want it to repeatedly beep for forever.

My spin cycle is not working properly. About every 3 loads - it won’t spin. I did a load of sheets that I put through 2 additional spin cycles & they came out sopping wet. I have a repair man coming out later this week.

Needless to say - this has been pretty disapointing for such an expensive washer.

5 Stars Love it, love it, love it!
I bought this after extensive comparison shopping. My Kenmore was only 20+ years old and had only one working cycle left and a broken knob, so I clearly was in no hurry to buy a new washer. At any rate, I got this one and after six months, I’m still soliciting laundry from friends and family. Can you believe I sit and watch the supid thing go round some days? The only down side to this washer is that I found out how filthy my clothes were when they came out of the old machine. My clothes are cleaner and I’m saving water cause my water bill went down. The detergent is more expensive, but I use much less. For the first time ever, I use a fabric softener because the clothes rinse out so well, my family’s skin allergies have disappeared. I never thought I’d be happy enough about LAUNDRY DAY to write a review, but BUY THIS WASHER. You’ll love it, too.

1 Star Performs well but serious design flaw
We purchased this washer and accompanying dryer in August 2007. The machines do the job very well. They run very quiet and are efficient and are generally good machines. They also look pretty good. However, we have had to call out the Bosch service technician twice to replace the console on top of the washing machine as it keeps cracking around the screws that fix it to the main body of the machine. The cracking occurs in three places, one of which was going into the liquid dispenser that could have rendered the machine useless. The Bosch service engineer that came out to fix it said it was a design fault so I do not think there is a long term solution. We are now on our third new console for the washing machine and the same cracking problem is happening to the dryer and the products are now past their warranty period. I do not know how long they will now last with this cracking problem. I would not have bought these products if had known of this and I am surprised that a company of Bosch’s quality would have built such a product and not addressed the design problem. Do not buy.

5 Stars I LOVE this washer
I have had this washer only 1 week, but just love it. I replaced a top loading Maytag that was 7 years old and had been repaired twice in that 7 years. I had some wash rags that had some black stains on them that I thought were permenant because my old washer never got them out. I put them through the sanitizer wash along with my towels and they came out completely stain free!!!! I was amazed. The washer does beep when done until you manually turn it off, but I knew this when I bought it and don’t mind that as it makes me get the clothes right out of the washer. Can’t comment on reliability after only one week, but if you’re looking for a machine that will clean your clothes this will do it, efficiently and quietly.

4 Stars Wash day
We have owned our Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Washer for about a year. It was an adjustment from being used to a top-loading machine, but, for the most part, we have been happy with it. There are both pros and cons.

The pros:

Large capacity. I’ve washed a king-sized quilt with no problem.

Large door opening for easy loading and unloading.

Nearly silent wash cycle. You don’t hear it filling with water and you don’t hear it washing.

The spin cycle is like a jet engine, but still remains fairly quiet. Clothes come out almost dry.

All manner of settings for various types of clothes.

An end-of-cycle beep to let you know when the wash cycle is complete.

Needs very little water, and automatically determines the water level, depending on the amount of clothes.

Although the high efficiency detergent is more expensive, the washer uses very little. You can even put in less than the recommended amount and have clothes come out perfectly clean.

Less wear and tear on clothes, as there is no agitator. It cleans the clothes by rotation alone.

The cons:

Very long wash cycles. (At least you know the clothes are clean.) This is typical of any Bosch machine.

It can be fussy about what it spins. In most cases, if you have a balanced load, the clothes will come out of the spin cycle nearly dry. However, I have one blanket that is like fur and gets very heavy when wet. Nothing I can do, nothing I can add to balance it, will make it spin this blanket. Also, in the beginning, I had a lot of trouble getting it to spin things, but have since learned how to balance the loads.

Unlike top-loading machines, when you have forgotten an item, you cannot open the door and add it without draining the whole machine, as the door is locked (for obvious reasons).

It is an adjustment from a top-loading machine. As you can see, there are a small but significant amount of annoyances. However, I will say that this washer cleans clothes better than any other I have owned, and I would recommend it. I would also recommend you read the manual carefully, in the hope you do not have the trouble spinning that I did for the first month.

5 Stars great washer/dryer
I love this washer/dryer. Its easy to use cleans great and is compact. I have an apartment that only had a washer hook-up and it perfect for my space. Each cycle takes about about 2 and 1/2 hours but thats no problem for me. It cleans a whole lot better than my old top load washer and alot quieter. The capcity for loads is much smaller than my old top load, of course, so I wash more loads. That is no problem, as well, because this is a better cleaning machine hands down anyway. I highly recommend this washer/dryer.

5 Stars Great value, time saver, energy saver, water saver, wash very well
I bought this machine from another vendor and really love it! It’s compact size with up to 11 lb capacity (which is just right). I hate those bulky, super size washer and dryers, and this one is really a space saver. The control panel is easy to read and easy to figure out how to program, the installation doesn’t need any professional help and the washing job is super too! The first time, I throuth in some of my son’s dirty clothes coats and very glad to see it was cleaned very well. And the best part is that I can choose if I like to dry the laundry or not with just a button to press. Usually I don’t use the drying part (I’m an enviromentalist), but if I’m in a hurry and need the clothes soon, I just press the dry button and leave, there is no need to take the laundry out from washer and put it into a dryer!

I bought it from www.haier.com . There are a few vendors to choose. I choose Rainbow Appliance and was very satisfied about their service. The price is only $609. I added a 4 year warrenty, plus the 1 year manufacture warrenty, I will have someone to count on for 5 years.

The only cons so far is that the instruction is a little confusing because some of the steps already done in the factory and the terms are not very clear. It took me 30 mintutes to figure it out.

1 Star NIGHTMARE!
AVOID THIS COMPANY!! My unit arrived broken. Haier customer service was rude & obnoxious. They were completely unapologetic & seemed to go out of their way to be UNHELPFUL. When I finally bullied them into action, they wanted a full week to send out a service man who may or may not have been able to fix it. I spoke to both customer service and corporate, both were extremely rude and entirely useless. What’s more, neither one had the decency to so much as apologize. NEVER AGAIN.

This was every internet buyer’s nightmare!

1 Star NO Customer Service
DO NOT DEPEND ON CUSTOMER SERVICE. Within the one year warranty the pump quit. For several weeks I attempted to get a customer service person, and when I finally did it was useless. Because they had no repair people in my region, they decided they would would replace my washer, and they would pay shipping costs. Nice offer, but they never followed through. And I again was in telephone hell. I will NEVER buy another Haier product again.

4 Stars No complaints on a great washer
My wife and I bought this washer 3 months ago, along with its companion dryer the DLG5966g, for use in a new “kitchen laundry cubby” installation on a new ceramic tile floor. We had concerns about having a washer/dryer in our living area because of noise, but they have been totally unfounded. One room away from the living room and TV, we rarely even notice it working as it goes through its cycles. Our other concern was whether we would have problems with vibration and the washer wanting to “walk” during the extremely high speed spin cycle of these new front loaders. The first few loads put our minds to rest. Even at the highest spin speed the vibration is hardly noticeable. LG has done a great job engineering this unit. Note, however, that this washer needs to be on a solid floor (concrete or ceramic tile) to work properly. I wouldn’t recommend installing it on a wood or laminate floor. We purchased the optional pedestals, which puts these at a great height for convenience and comfort. Built-in drawers, too. Very large capacity, and there are plenty of cycle choices and options, but not terribly complicated to operate. My wife says it does a much better job of cleaning the clothes than our old top loader, using much less water and HE detergent.

The only drawback so far is that a typical wash cycle takes about 90 minutes. If you’re used to much less than that, and if it’s a critical factor for you, consider another washer. We’re not in that big of a hurry. It does have a “speed wash” cycle which can run a load through considerable faster if you find yourself in a hurry. My wife also uses the “extra rinse” option, which adds a few more minutes. Probably not necessary, but it’s there if you want it.

The only reason that I didn’t give this washer 5 stars is because we haven’t owned it long enough to know if it will hold up well over the years. It’s direct drive, which was one of the criteria that made me choose it over other models. I’m hoping that this will also add to the reliability. If it’s continuing to work well in a few years then it definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

4 Stars Great washer
I’ve had this washer and the LG DLE 5955G dryer for about 6 months now. I absolutely love both of them. This is my first front loading w/d set and I could not be happier.
